Drum Roll Please
Charlie had his weight checked again today as he has been every 2 weeks since leaving the NICU. Since he has been doing so well on the soy formula and eating more we were really hoping for good weight gain. Up until now Charlie had only been gaining a few ounces every couple weeks. Well, today he weighs 8lbs 6oz! He's up a half a pound in two weeks. That is amazing for this little guy. So soy it will be for our little Charlie boy!

CJ
Christian said he couldn't be out-done by Charlie and his big news yesterday. Christian has been working hard at tummy time to strengthen those back and neck muscles and yesterday it paid off. After a lot of cheering and help from big brother Easton (Easton rattled toys to keep him interested) Christian decided it was time to roll over. After which there was more cheering and clapping. And I must say he did look pretty darn pleased with himself. These boys are amazing each and every day. Can't wait to see what tomorrow holds.

Charlie Bear
Although we don't have our computer back yet and can't post any pictures we thought we'd let everyone know what a big day it is for Charlie. Today Charlie is getting his big boy pants. Okay, not really, but he is kicking his newborn size clothing to the curb and now wearing 0-3 month clothes! This must mean that he is over 8lbs but we'll get a definite weight on Wednesday when he goes in for his next weight check. Let's hear it for Charlie!

All is Well
Please bare with us as our computer gets repaired which may be several days and posts may be few. You'll be happy to know that all is well in this King household. Easton is busy and happy and enjoying his last week at daycare before he has a week home with mom and then the nanny starts.... Which is his current daycare provider. She'll just be coming to our house! Christian is smiling and talking and growing and loves to watch his big brother. And our little Charlie boy is working on growing. He took 4 ounces of milk for the first time the other day and yesterday we started him on soy formula to see if that will make a difference with his eating, growing, and disposition. We're anxious to see his weight next week and praying he is above 8lbs!
We'll post more when we get our computer up and running!

Happy 6 Month Birthday!
It's hard to believe, but it's true. Christian and Charlie are 6 months old! Their adjusted age today is 3 months old. That's how old they would be if there were born on their actual due date. They have certainly come a long way since February 15. Here's the proof:
CHRISTIAN
Christian is somewhere in the 10.5-11 lb range. He eats 5-6 ounces every 4 or more hours and can sleep the entire night through most nights. He is wearing size 3mos onesies and 3-6 mos sleepers, but will be going up in sizes shortly if he keeps eating and growing the way he has been. Christian is such a good baby, very calm and rarely fusses. He loves to sleep and will often take several hour long naps a day. When he is awake he loves to talk and smile. He has one of the most beautiful smiles I've ever seen but I may be slightly biased :)
CHARLIE
Charlie has yet to hit 8 lbs, but is getting close. He is still the size of most babies who are born full term and is still wearing newborn sized onesies and 0-3mos sleepers. He eats anywhere from 1-3 ounces every 2-3 hours. Charlie is the exact opposite of Christian. Charlie doesn't like to sleep or eat and usually takes lots of catnaps throughout the day and is up several times a night. He is a sweet baby who is most content when being held and snuggled and will usually demand to be held quite often. He does smile and talk but is very reserved about it and you have to catch him at the right time.
Happy 6 month birthday boys!

Find something cuter....I dare you
Yes, I may be biased, but my boys are pretty darn cute. But then the other day a couple things happened that made me realize that they are indeed the cutest. Check this out:
Christian and Charlie were due for a bath, so baths were done. During their baths I remembered that a few months back we were given something so adorable for the little boys I just had to bust them out.....

Just Another Day....
Well, it's been just another day in the King household:
Easton is talking (a lot of gibberish still) a lot more and more each day. Some words sound nothing like they should but we know what he's talking about, most of the time. He is enjoying his summer and loves to be outside as much as he can. He is finally tall enough to reach the pedals on his trike that he got last Christmas and likes to ride that outside in the garage or sidewalk. We've tried a kiddie pool or sprinkler a couple of times and he absolutely hates it which is puzzling to us since he loves to take baths and usually likes to dunk his head under water during his bath. Go figure.
Christian is sleeping and eating sleeping and eating and growing very very well. He likes to talk too but we really have no idea what he's talking about. We'd like to think he's talking about how much he loves to be at home and not in the hospital and how much he loves his brothers.
Charlie.....Charlie, Charlie, Charlie. The past few days he's decided he doesn't want to eat and will only take an ounce every 3-4 hours or longer. I ended up taking him to the doctor today as he was not having nearly enough wet diapers as he should and we were getting worried about him being dehydrated. Although the doctor said he looked good and didn't think he needed IV fluids he suggested we try giving him a little pedialyte between feedings to increase the amount of fluid he takes in. Along with that the doctor would like him to see an endocrinologist to make sure there isn't anything else going on that they've missed. That appointment should hopefully happen in the next couple days.
Other than all of that we are doing okay. We did find out that our daycare is closing at the end of August, but we are in the process of getting a nanny lined up to come and take care of the boys at our house when I go back to work. And if things work out okay with the nanny I am looking at going back early to mid September.
So, like I said, just another day at the King household!

Daily Workout Regimine
You might think that being a baby is pretty easy. But Christian and Charlie would tell you it's no picnic. There are lots of things to work on during the day:
Another exercise for Charlie is to work on sitting more to bend and loosen those hips. He doesn't mind the Bumbo too much and decided to work on his best Elvis impersonation on this day.
Charlie started physical therapy this week and has lots of exercises to do every day. One of those exercises is more tummy time to work on rolling over (which he already does). He also has other stretching and bending exercises to do to flex his legs and hips. As you can see he is pretty darn good at tummy time and can get some good height when pushing up.
Christian doesn't see a physical therapist, but the doctor would like to see him work on his tummy time, strengthen his muscles and work on rolling over. You can see that his idea of tummy time is pretty laid back.....we need to work on that!
Both boys play with the floor gym to work on reaching and grabbing. And both are getting pretty good about grabbing things.
Easton is nice enough to help Christian work on rolling from his back to tummy (which mommy has seen him do once)
Charlie and dad working on flexing those hips!
And Easton, of course, has things to work on too. Like catching bubbles!
....And looking darn cute (which he's very very good at)
