All That's New and More

It's hard to believe that Christian and Charlie will be coming up on 8 months in a couple weeks.  They have learned so many new things in the past few weeks it's amazing.

Christian
We haven't had Christian weighed since his 6 month visit, but we guess he's in the 13.5-14lb. range.  Christian has switched to size 2 diapers and is starting to get into 6-9 mos. clothing, although he can fit into some 3-6 mos. stuff still. He's getting so big that his bottles aren't satisfying him anymore and the doctor gave us the go ahead to try solids with him.  He's been doing pretty good with it so far and cracks me up every time we feed him solids.  He normally eats 6 ounces every 4 hours and once a day will eat a couple Tbs. of cereal/vegetable.  So far he's only had carrots and sweet potatoes.  We have peas ready to go as well as squash, we'll see what he thinks of them.  We're also thinking he's working on some teeth as he's been a complete drool monster the last couple weeks and chomps on anything he can get his hands on, including mom's fingers.  Christian loves to play with his feet, I'm surprised he hasn't gotten his toes in his mouth yet!  He loves to play on the floor with all his toys and has really become a mover and shaker.  It's fun to watch him roll from his back to his tummy and then to his back again.  With two babies working on this we're running out of floor space pretty quickly.  We busted out the jumper last week and Christian has a grand ol time bouncing around in that thing....so much fun, in fact, that he has fallen asleep in there a couple of times.

He jumps so well he tuckers himself right out!

First time with solids....

Yummm, sweet potatoes!

Really mom, carrots?

Just kidding, I love carrots!

Hey guys, I have feet!

Charlie
Our little Charlie boy is doing pretty well.  His last weight check was on Sept. 29 and he was 9.6lbs.  He's been pretty picky with his eating again lately and only eating a couple ounces at a time again, but hopefully this is just a phase and he'll pick back up again.  Usually Charlie will eat 3.5-4 ounces every 3-4 hours or more if he's sleeping well.  He isn't quite sleeping through the night, although I feel he's getting closer.  He has another NICU follow up appointment coming up on October 9th where they will check his progress from being in physical therapy as well as his weight and eating.  I believe he's made a lot of progress with physical therapy and at his last appointment a couple weeks ago, the therapist gave us new exercises to work on with him.  Charlie is now wearing size 1 diapers and 3-6 month clothing.  Although we got the okay from his pediatrician to start solids with him, we've tried a couple of times and he's shown that he just isn't quite ready for that.  That's okay, we can take things slow.

Charlie loves to sit in the bumbo and watch his big brother.....yes, Easton squeezes himself in the bumbo!

At dinner time, Charlie likes to sit in the high chair and sit at the table with everyone

Such a little man!

Now that we have our computer back, hopefully it will continue to work so we can keep up with everyone's progress.

Catching Up With Easton

Computer is back, seems to be working okay so now it's time for some catching up!

Easton is talking more and more each day, learning new words and trying to copy the things we say.  He seems to grow up a little more each and every day and it feels like it is going by so fast.  We've found out that because Easton is at home all the time and not leaving to go to daycare, he gets a lot of pent-up energy that must be released some how.  Luckily, the weather has been beautiful and we've been able to be outside in the evenings and on weekends so Easton can run around.  Plus, we've spent some time at Oxbow Park running around and seeing the animals at the zoo.  Here is proof of our little man getting so big......

Easton loves to hold his brothers these days.  This is with Charlie.

I don't think Charlie was so sure about this deal.

You would think we bullied him into holding Charlie, Easton looks thrilled

The Happenings

I know it's been awhile since our last post. Our computer is in being fixed yet again! Here is what we know:
I am back to work 3.5 days a week and sofar so good. It feels good to socialize with other adults. Not that I don't love baby talk, but there is only so much of that a person can handle in a day, even for a mom. Our nanny has been coming to the house while Tyler and I are at work and we think it's going very well.

Easton has become extremely interested in his brothers and frequently wants to hold them, feed them and at times wants to pick them up. And believe me, I've caught him trying! Every day it seems I see him doing something that shows how much he's growing up and growing up fast!

Christian is doing so well. We are guessing he is in the 13-13.5lb range. He may be ready to try solids soon. He is such a talker and will charm your socks off with his smile. He loves to play with his feet and is so incredibly close to rolling from his back to his tummy. His new favorite activity is playing in the jumper that we have set up that he can jump around in, play with toys and listen to music.

Charlie is wonderful. He had a weight check yesterday and weighed 9lbs 1oz! That is just under a full lb gained in 2 weeks! That's amazing for him. He is doing so much better on soy formula. Charlie loves to be able to sit up and watch what everyone else is doing. He'll sit in the Bumbo, the bouncer, the jumper and even the high chair in order to see what's going on around him. He is getting so close to rolling from his bak to his tummy as well!  His new fun thing is to sit at the dinner table in his high chair with everyone to see what's happening. And that has been the only way to eat a some-what quiet meal in the evening. Charlie still is such a little snuggle bear. And big news with him....he slept through the night last night! Let's just hope this is the beginning of a trend with him!

Once our computer is back we'll try to get new pictures posted.

This & That

It's extremely difficult to get a picture of all 3 boys together, but here is an attempt....

Christian: wait, what are we doing?
Easton: Cheese!
Charlie: I'm going to touch him!

Christian: hey, that's my big brother!
Easton: I'm going to read instead of take pictures

Christian: What? You want more pictures?
Easton: Charlie, don't touch me!
Charlie: I'm not touching you, I'm not touching you

Christian: Ugh, more pictures!?
Easton: Mom, Charlie's touching me!
Charlie: What? I'm not touching him.

Christian: Are we done yet?
Easton: Ahhhh! Charlie, stop touching me!
Charlie: I'm not touching you, I'm not touching you

Christian: Man, I'm bored
Easton: That's it! I'm done!
Charlie: Mission accomplished.

We All Survived!

Yes, the time finally came for me to return to work.  My first day back was Tuesday and our nanny started that day as well.  So, new routines for everyone.  For me it was getting back into my "working mind" and leaving my babies. For Easton it was being with Bre during the day, but staying at home instead of going to her house. And for Christian and Charlie it was getting used to someone other than mom.  As much as I didn't believe that I would survive the whole day without my little ones, I did in fact make it.  No spontaneous combustion or insane ruminations or rantings about my babies. Okay, maybe a little ranting, but I made it home to find everyone just fine and I was so excited to be home with them all again.

In fact, everyone was so good, Christian is showing off his new moves he learned...grabbing his feet.  He seems to love the fact that he has feet.  Charlie is happy to have made friends with Bre.  It took about a half a day but he eventually decided that she is a pretty cool lady.  Easton was just so excited to have Bre back after being home with mom for the last week, he could hardly contain himself.  We'll all hopefully fall easily into this new routine that it won't be a big deal.

And hopefully I'll have a little time soon to add a few new photos of all the boys.
