Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween from the Kings!

Easton wanted to be a tractor this year so......

we made him a tractor :)

This is the fanciest cardboard box you will ever see!

And he LOVED it!

Tonight we had my sister and her family as well as Easton's friend Claire join us for trick-or-treating in our neighborhood.  We had 7 boys and 1 girl prowling the neighborhood for candy!  And before you see any more pictures I will tell you that, no, Claire and Easton did not coordinate their costumes, but they were the perfect match!

Crabby Batman chose to stay home with Grandma and Grandpa

These were not Christian and Charlie's original costumes.  Mom made them some awesome chicken costumes, but when it came time to try them on a couple days ago....they wanted NOTHING to do with it and screamed as though I was torturing them!  So improvise we did :)

But Charlie was more than eager to go out!

Claire and Easton...

Oh my gosh these two have become such good friends! They held hands as they walked down the sidewalk.  It was the cutest!

The whole gang!
(Minus Easton and Claire)

Overall it was a great Halloween!!

Halloween Prep

A couple months ago we started asking Easton what he wanted to be for Halloween since we knew he would change his mind about a dozen times.  A few of his early ideas were a cow, chicken and pig.  Why all the farm animals?  I have no idea.  And no, I'm not going to spoil the fun and reveal his costume early.  That would be no fun.  I need to build a little suspense here.  I will say that it is NOT Buzz Lightyear.  Surprising, huh?  Once he finally decided on a costume and stuck with the same idea we gathered our items needed to make his costume as well as Christian and Charlie's.  This weekend we wrapped up the last minute touches to each costume.  I will say that they are all going to be so stinking cute I can't stand it!

Also on the agenda for this weekend was pumpkin carving.  We told Easton we were going to carve pumpkins and the first thing out of his mouth was "I want mine to have a tongue sticking out and hair." This kid floors me.  He knows exactly what he wants.  So, here are the results....

First experience with pumpkin guts :)

Christian kept trying to eat it....

His face says it all!

Where's the hair you ask??

Haha, love his face!

He thought the hair was so cool!

Gosh I love this kid!!

Pumpkins

Ok, so we're a few weeks late on this excursion.  We had meant to go with some friends a few weeks ago but it didn't work out.  This weekend we found ourselves at Northwoods Apple Orchard just a short drive North of Byron.  We went here last year with the boys and had such a good time we thought we'd go back.  And we FINALLY got our pumpkins :)

We're all excited to find our pumpkins!

"Hey, Charlie, are we really this little or is this a giant chair?"

Brothers :)

"I found my pumpkin, Mom!"

"Hmmm, this one looks nice...."

"Eeew, it has dirt on it!"

"Ok.  These look a little cleaner"

I can't believe how big this little man is getting! Compare this year's picture to last year....Look how much he's grown!  I just can't believe it!!

Got our pumpkins and we're ready to go

Christian and Easton had a blast.  Charlie was a little less than cooperative and a little on the crabby side.  No family pictures at the Orchard this year :(

But Easton found his tractor!  Seriously, this kid has an obsession!

The closest thing we could get to a family picture.  Perhaps I'll photo-shop myself in?

Compare to last year's family photo at the same orchard...

Bliss :)
