Celebrating Charlie

Charlie is our little man.  He continues to be slow to gain weight and is about 1-2 pounds behind Christian.  Since his hernia surgery a couple months ago, Charlie only takes 2 ounces of milk at each feeding.  Since he doesn't take much in we have continued to fortify his milk each time he eats with extra calories to try to pack on the pounds.  Charlie is also being weighed every 2 weeks to keep an eye on his weight and to track it more carefully.  His next weight check is on the 20th.  On that day he will also see a nutritionist to see if there is anything else we can be doing to help him gain weight.

Charlie is still in Newborn size clothes and diapers.  Although he is getting closer to growing out of them and into the next size.  Charlie eats every 2-3 hours, 2 ounces at a time.  He sleeps now and then throughout the day, but a lot less than Christian.  Charlie isn't sleeping through the night yet, but he sometimes will sleep 4-5 hours at night before waking up to eat again.

Charlie is more forward, not afraid to let you know when there is something he needs.  He LOVES to be held and snuggled.  And if he could be held 24/7 he would be the happiest baby ever.  But since that isn't possible there are other things we do throughout the day to keep him busy:

Charlie loves to watch his mobile.  His mobile can keep him busy for several minutes.  He also likes to talk to people and smiles a lot.
Lots of smiles

Charlie has started sitting in the Bumbo.  He is still very tiny in it, but loves to be able to sit up and look around to see what's happening around him.

Charlie loves his tummy time.  He has become very strong and will push himself up to look around.

Rockin' tummy time
Other times he will just fall asleep on his tummy.

Snuggling

lookin' darn cute
If he can't snuggle with an adult, Charlie will gladly snuggle with his brother.

We are anxious to see all of the things Charlie learns in the next year and all of the years to come.  There is so much curiosity it will be fun to explore the world with him.
