First Trip To The ZOO!!

On Friday we joined some good friends of ours, Gina & Mike and their kids Natalie and Oliver on a trip to Como Zoo in St. Paul.  My cousin Carson also joined us for the day.  Gina and I have known each other since we toddlers!  We had such a fun day watching the kids see the animals for the first time.  The weather was perfect!

After the zoo we had a picnic!

Can you see he's already working on his hockey goalie stance!

 Such happy boys :)

And after the picnic we took all 3 boys on the carousel that was at the zoo!

Christian and Charlie liked it for about a minute and then needed to be in mom and dad's arms...

But Easton loved it!

Life With Boys

I never thought life with 3, okay 4, boys would be easy, but c'mon!  One particular night this week I felt slightly out-numbered.  Can you see why?

Ah yes, this little escapade took less than a minute for them to complete.  Easton took the drawer out on his own and the two little ones helped to throw everything out of it.  Now that's team work!  As I was putting this mess away they moved to the kitchen for another adventure....I'm not even going there.  Let's just say it was one thing after another on this evening.

Don't get me wrong, it's not like this all the time and we do have nice moments.  In fact, the nice moments out-weigh the chaos.

We go on walk frequently and Easton has started to like to walk Tank.

There are days it feels like a juggling show....

And then pure innocence when a boy finds a frog....
Can you tell Tank is intrigued as well?

"Ha ha ha, I touched the frog, Mom!"

I love this one!

Time to let the frog go...

Like I said before, don't get me wrong.  Actually, I wouldn't have it any other way :)

It Must Be Love, Part 2

Some of you may recall a few posts back about Charlie and how much he loves his dog, Tank.  Well, I didn't think pictures really explained how much Charlie loves his dog.  Now keep in mind when you're watching this video that Charlie is not afraid and is not crying.....he's just THAT excited!

What? The week isn't done yet?!

Oh, yes.  So I concluded our week a little too early my friends.  We had visitors today that brought presents for the boys.  Granny & Pa (Tyler's grandparents) came for a visit and brought some goodies with them.  You may have heard once or twice that Easton absolutely LOVES Buzz Lightyear from the movie Toy Story.  Several months ago, while shopping with mom, Easton got to buy a Buzz Lightyear action figure.  BUT, since money doesn't grow on trees, mom only let him get the small Buzz.  Well, there is a bigger Buzz.....much, much, much bigger.  Can you guess what he got today?

Can you see how much he loves Toy Story....

Yes, he's one very very very very very very excited boy! How excited you ask? Well, he almost passed up going to the park tonight so he could stay home and play with Buzz.  That's how excited he is!

How much bigger is the new Buzz Lightyear??

Now you can understand his excitement :)

Oh, and Christian and Charlie got gifts today too!

Although Easton was excited about Buzz, we did end up going to the park to enjoy an evening of no rain

"Hi Mom"

Love all my boys!

Highlights of the Week

Easton finished up swimming lessons this week and got an awesome certificate of completion from the pool.  Before his last day on Friday he jumped off the diving board again and even learned to hang from the side, go under water and safely climb the ladder.

Thursday I picked the boys up from daycare.  Marilyn was showing me how Christian likes to play Ring Around the Rosy with everyone.  Once they were done we were talking about how close Christian and Charlie are to walking.  Marilyn stood Christian up in front of her and he proceeded to take his first two steps!!  We were all so excited.  I was excited that I was there to see it!  When we got home I told Tyler about it and tried to get Christian to do it again.  It took a couple tries and he finally took a step for him to see.  Charlie, liking all of this excitement, got in on the fun too and showed us all how he could start walking too!  He took his first steps as well!!  Way to go boys!!

Saturday we decided to pack everyone up and go to the Farmer's Market.  It was a little rainy and not as many vendors as normal so we didn't end up staying too long.  By the time we were on our way home the rain was going away and the sun was coming out.  We decided to go to Oxbow Park and visit the animals in the zoo.  I guess everyone else had the same idea.  It was pretty busy out there.  We got to see the Otters swimming, the Bear finding food hidden in his cage, the Cougar pacing & waiting for his lunch, the Prairie Dogs eating their lunch, the Turkey gobbling at everyone (all 3 boys thought it was hilarious), they got to pet the Calves and baby goats (I know they're called Kids, but didn't want to confuse anyone by saying the boys pet the kids ;)

Easton thought it was hilarious when the goat licked him

All the boys watching the Turkey walk around and gobble at everyone

The Prairie Dogs really know how to share their lunch

The Badger was being lazy

On our way out of the Zoo we stopped to see all the Owls and Eagles

Next week we have a trip to Como Zoo (in St. Paul) planned with some friends!!

When we're not out and about having fun we're having fun at home.

These 2 hooligans like to get into trouble.  They were both banging on the window and when Mom told them NO, this is the reaction I got from them.  Priceless.  Can you tell which one is the instigator of all the trouble making?

And of course, like father like son (except Tyler isn't running around in his underwear)
We read a lot of books too :)

We didn't think we had a lot going on this summer, but we were looking at our calendar yesterday trying to figure out when we could go visit friends in Wisconsin and realized we have a lot more going on than we realized!  Our weekends are filling up fast.  I guess we'll have a lot to post about in the coming weeks!!
